Black and Oatmeal Journal

I made the Black and Oatmeal journal only last week…it’s got 50 pages and sewing the pages was tough but I managed it 🙂 I used Black handmade paper for the covers, oatmeal colored handmade papers for the pages and cover design, and cream colored embroidery thread to bind the book. I cut the black circles using a paper punch bought from Parry’s corner.

Recipe Book for my mom

I just bound up a bunch of my mother’s xeroxes of cook books 🙂 She was struggling with them falling down everywhere and getting misplaced. I was intending to take it to a shop and getting it bound professionally but changed my mind and thought I’d bind it! I finally got down to it on Saturday! Voila- recipe book ready! The cover design is a bird I traced from a library book. I thought I’d color or paint it but my mom likes it just like this 🙂

There’s such a joy when you pack off your lil-handmade goods to their new homes…feels so satisfied when you get your first “craft salary”- from your own crafty labors…

Today I sent off the thirty custom Origami boxes I was talking about here with K.. And in return I got some yum Snickers(prominently featuring in today’s pics) and a stack of DVD s to watch…

The boxes are a variation of the earlier Coffee and chocolate brown Manly boxes…couldn’t find the brown paper anywhere and these babies have only 1 accent stripe cos the new owners were going to stick something on the rest of the place…The boxes are meant to be given out at a Naming ceremony for a lil baby boy Viju…and his parents are going to put stickers of his name on the boxes (how sweet!)

So Cheers to lil Viju- May he live happily! A toast with some pictures 🙂 [ok no toast, just pics :P]

And as K’s “commission” I added a matching gift for him- A photo frame from Cardboard, the same Maroon paper I used on the boxes and some beige leaves tinged with gold fabric paint…

Now I am going notepad crazy….Last weekend I signed up for a twitter account….My brain was awash with great ideas and so many topics to Tweet or blog- but my lack of places to jot down these elusive ideas was worrying…So I sat down and made meself some lil matchbook notebooks…One for each tote- now I’ll never be without…

I know the name sounds weird- but it reminds me of an old friend Aravind who tried hard to teach me gear trains and mechanical engineering…I have two of these- one with black swirly gears on the cover and the other with gold..The Orange paper cover is a thick handmade paper wedding card I recycled…

Two wee notepads

Two small notepads made from cream handmade paper A4 sheets I got on sale… One has chinese Deco tape edging at the top (the ducks say “we are honey duck” 😛 ) and the other has a silver ribbon knotted around it and a paper-punch flower painted with gold fabric paint and some beige leaves…

Finally, this is a lil notebook- mini book I’d say- that I like to call the Pocketmod Modification (mod)….
